GIOIELLERIA AGENO
Ageno jewellery store is one of the best established goldsmith stores under the loggias of the Basilica Palladiana, previously known as Palazzo della Ragione, place to the historical goldsmiths’ district. Francesco Giuseppe Ageno, grandfather to the actual owner learnt his profession as jeweller in one of those famous goldsmith stores of the district, contributing afterwards to the building of the Crown and breastplate of Mount Berico’s Madonna.
Later on, in 1919 he started operating independently with his own business: it was one of the first jewellery workshop in Vicenza. In 1927 he acquired the actual shop, in order to let his son succeed him, until it was Franco’s turn in 1968. Franco is the actual owner, celebrating three generations of jewel makers of Gioielleria Ageno, a precious gem to Vicenza’s historical businesses.
